MISSION: To increase scientific awareness and cognitive problem solving ability in school age children, utilizing a variety of entertaining and engaging techniques, all with a focus on helping develop the imagination and minds of young children and more importantly to get them excited about science, learning, and asking questions for a life time.

Here at LightUp Education we believe that children only have to gain the understanding of how the world works, and that will empower them and open their minds. And with basic scientific understanding so low in the general US population, ignorance, as always, is our true enemy. Children can get lost in television and the internet at very early ages. We want to use these media outlets to encourage learning, to send them away with new ways of thinking about things. Basically, to educate them as-well-as entertain, to empower them to ask questions about anything that peaks their curiosity, to learn about science, and to teach them it's good to ask questions.

We grew up watching educational shows, like Sesame Street, and continue to be inspired to this day. We both have higher degrees in science and design from North Carolina State University and are very passionate about educational reform, informal forms of education, STEM*, and particularly the sciences. We are currently developing a new multifaceted supplemental science program called, Adventures in Science with Matt and Sam, which focuses on the teaching of sciencethrough entertainment. This program will become a powerful teaching and learning tool available to teachers and educators everywhere.

Our main objective is to introduce science to children at an early age, to hopefully encourage future scientists and not only to get kids excited about science now, butfor the rest of their lives. Starting with science, and a fundamental understanding of how the world works, we can all help save this world together. After all, no one is going to save us and the world from all our problems. We have to do it ourselves. Lets help light up education and brighten our children’s future.
